How many inches at your height are you from the ball when addressing it?
I’m a70 year old golfer. 30 years ago the driver was my favorite club, slight draw down the middle and long(for me). Over time I lost my mojo for driving but after watching your driver guide I think the mojo is back. Back to some basics I had lost thanks to your guide. You’re great at making it simple to understand. Thanks!
Rick – it's years after you've made this and it's helping me now in 2022. Thank you
Excellent series but when did people start not using the word ‘the’ before the word ‘driver’? It appears to be a common occurrence.
Great advice. Thanks for sharing
Are you wearing a bro?
Me watching this before going to Topgolf
Finally someone who doesn't ramble on for hours abt one concept
Thanks Rick. Your videos have helped me tremendously. Even at the age of 63 years, I am able to maintain a handicap of 6 thanks to you.
Rick thank you so much for these videos. Here in MI USA it is 20 deg F (-7C) and I am heading to a heated driving range stall. You have motivated me that much!
Incredible! Haven’t played in months, in one day this walkthrough cured a duck hook that’s haunted me for years. Even the comparisons in iron- vs driver-setup helped smooth out my irons.
Every time I'm about to go play I come to this channel and run through some videos. Best stuff you can find.
I don't usually do this for your videos but I have a complaint. I was new to golf 2 years ago and I live in Minnesota so we only get about 5 months of golf sometimes less. I think I finally have the right mindset on how to improve my driving game. I watched these driving videos when I first started and honestly I think they contributed to one of my biggest problems. To a new player, my friends, family, and myself the swing itself wasn't really the problem, it was the control and consistency. To open with an overview that says driver always has to be a full power swing is exactly what you shouldn't say to new golfers. That is the reason I was so inconsistent and had trouble making strong connection. You did say to keep it controlled, but for a new player or someone who struggles with consistency/control, that doesn't make much sense. Anyone reading this, what helped me figure out how to get control is to remember to relax your body and not to worry about how hard you hit it at all. Focus on thinking the club is swinging and not being powered all the way through. That's obviously not true but that's how I got more control. Throw the club through to exactly the point where you want the connection instead of swinging it full power. A ball that goes 200 straight every time can turn into 300 straight every time, but topping, slicing, and shanking every time is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Went from hitting good, consistent drives and then developed a nasty case of low line drive duck hooks. Occasionally would get it back but always reverted back to the ducks. Found these videos two days ago and combined with the slightest grip change (went just slightly weaker with my right) I've been bombing away. Even adjusted the driver to 9 5 and got more distance. These videos are perfect.
Issues topping my drive! What am I doing?
Guys, I did it. I literally followed this guide step by step and filmed myself. Trained intensively on the technique for 2 months. My drives go straight and far without many effort. Not saying it's easy. In fact it's really hard and requires intense training, but at some point the pieces of the puzzle will fall together and the club will do its work. Thank you Rick for this perfect driver guide !!
Rick, I've stumbled across this set of vids a couple of days ago. And I've never been able to get a ball off the ground with any type of driver (1W, 3W, 5W). After watching it only once, I tried your advice yesterday on the course, and now my driver is my best mate! It actually lifted off the ground and flew into the fairway, more than once!!!! Thx mate! You're a kick-ass teacher!
Rick, love the channel and your vids, tips, etc. I'm returning to play a bit after a number of years not having time. My son (16) is just getting started, he's left handed for golf – I'd love him to be able to watch your videos but everything is the 'wrong' way round. Is there any way you could reverse the images so that it appears you are left handed!? Many thanks Andy
OOOMMGGG THIS HELPED ME SOOOOO MUCHT!!!!!!
Iron: hitting downward
Driver: hitting upward
Thanks 👍
Thanks Rick I've always struggled with driver for over 6 years, after watching these lessons and 40 balls at the range I can say ive just finished the best round of golf to date confidently driving off the tee. Thanks to you.
Instantly I see an issue between my stance compared to yours. I’m having the ball closer to my right foot than my left…
I’m going to try that out and see if I can actually get my carry further than the 200yrds I’m getting now 😁
These videos have really haloed my game Rick. I am very new to the game and these videos have helped me so much. Keep it up 😁
Finally put this in to use today! Helped me loads! As a beginner I actually hit the ball with a driver today on the range! Something I couldn’t do before and dreaded when playing
Very good and thank.you I.call.it " the load" where you your body is tilted back so you.hit you up on the ball. You actually can load up on Iron.shots as well for extra distance.
The "load" is very important with the setup.are the keys to hitting rhe.driver
