Love this video …..can Chris or yourself explain how you change a dragger of the club to release the club more when chipping & pitching 🥴
Brilliant video 👌🏻
Great video as usual. Off topic, but the rough was so low behind you last year. This year it is 2ft high. Go in there and you have lost your ball.
As somebody who grew up playing without needing wedges, as to where I play, every chip is chip and run, I would definitely chip the third shot with 9/pw and hit into bang, I personally know I would get that shot on green, trying Chris’s method I would have no idea where it would be going
A 9 iron bump and run. Much easier to control the distance.
50 degree for that shot is ok because those greens aren’t fast.
That was Qqq-quality 👍👍👍👍😄
I would invoke the superflopadapolous.
Great lesson and banter!
I am not sure which degree is for what, but I would use a pitching wedge. My Gap and Sand wedge don't get used as often around the green.
The stance and ball placement is new to me. A tip I needed and will try
Brilliant video and please do more with Chris
Great tips, thanks! Although I did notice you leaned the shaft at the last second at 4:30 😜
James, what do you think of Phil Mickelson and his hinge and hold? I’m quite happy using that method. I play off an 11 handicap.
Good discussion.
James thought you were a goner on that 60 degree setup. Than great shot after rebalancing. Need to try that wide stance. Have used the other setup for chipping and works well except seem to be short a lot. Line is always good. Guess practice would help problem is would rather play. Yes please.
Did that guy just steal the rake 🤔
I
Love these videos with Chris. Top skill and banter
honestly, on that down hill lie, I have actually had solid success putting it. Giving it a firm put through the rough and letting it roll out. Main reason is to eliminate the thin rocket that goes over the green or leaving it short. With a putter 95% of the time I am going to get the ball onto the green and at least give myself a par putt. Even the first lie, I would have a hard time not putting the ball vs chipping it
James are all your wedges the same bounce?
I'd use an 8 iron, grip down and use a putting stroke for the first one. I'd only mess up with a wedge from there.
Wish I'd watched this before my last round James. Chipping is just woeful right now.
I always look at chipping as a game of variables…. no matter what you have to take lie into account so I'll ignore that, but beyond lie I always look at it as if you go high loft you have to make sure you carry it the right distance, whereas with any sort of bump/run you have to read the distance and the roll out.
Good tips & good show , when I was growing up I was always trying to play the Barry Lane high stopper ! plus I never sussed how to do it
I hit those greenside chips with an 8 iron. Just knock it on and watch it run up, nice and easy.
Quote of the day " james is very optimistic" – CD 🤣🤣🤣
I use the least lofted club I can get away with. 7 iron bump and run if at all possible. Otherwise, a pitching wedge unless I really need to get it high quick over a bunker or other obstacle to a close pin.
Since I started watching Chris' short game videos, I use the gap and pitching wedges a lot more and I have been having a lot closer putts.
Great video Chris is definitely deadly on the greens
Watched this video Sunday morning and went out in the afternoon and shot 81 (my best score to date!) I think ive finally worked out what bounce is on a club and how to use it! “no lob wedges used chipping round the greens to get this score” 🤣 keep up the great work!
So so funny.
And this is why I keep watching. Learn and laugh at the same time. Golf instruction content is usually dry and boring so nothing sticks in my head, but if I have a good laugh I'll remember the video
Great Vlog….Chris sense of humor is just great !!!
Good stuff for sure best part is how Chris gives James the business constantly
Really enjoyed today vlog, also enjoy CD dry humour too. What does Chris think of the rule of 12 around the green or does he feel it's now obsolete?
Great work lads! Brilliant tips as always and will definitely help my game! Keep them coming please 👍🙌
Great Vid gents – work so well together ! 60 strikes the fear of god due to a thin for me so perhaps sometimes I use too little loft!
A worthless video
Whose Legs had James borrowed for the last chip, certainly doe not seem to be his own 😂😂😂
Great video, as always with you guys teaming up. Quick question though, i have a 60 hightoe bigfoot wedge with a enormous bounce (15degr) so opening up this wedge will cause the leading edge to come up and thin the ball over the green. How to use this club on short chips? I do love it from bunkers though 😋
I used to be a 56 user all day but I've started using the 52(my lowest degree wedge other than the PW which is a bit hot). It's made a big difference but I still need to work on the bump and run.
Any advice on keeping your iron set consistent when you are bump and running it? I have 712 AP2s and sometimes it just comes flying off the face and goes way long.
Hey bud, any particular reason you gap your wedges 50/56/60 and Chris is 50/54/58?
