I did not realize that people struggle so much in manual cars… I grew up in europe where the majority of cars are manually transmited so I got used to it in a matter of hours

When I first learned to ride a motorcycle (they're all manual so very similar issues learning) I went on the back roads behind my house to show off to a friend. Nobody goes on this back road. Well the one time I needed it empty a dump truck was behind me. Let me say, stalling on a motorcycle is WAY more embarrassing because everyone sees you and generally people expect bikers to know how to ride. But a week later I could rip outta the neighborhood with ease if I wanted, so it worked out. Now I just gotta translate it to a damn car
I've been driving my 15 mustang GT for about a month now and I'm getting better but the only issues I have are steep hills and I get nervous around crowds of people. Other than that I'm still learning to rev match.
That was a great refresher for me.
16: rev match when downshifting, as will avoid clutch wear and (in more extreme cases) locking up drive wheels and possibly losing control (I've seen this happen in cars with an aggressive clutch).
tip #5 doesn't work too well if you have a fourth pedal for your e-brake with a pull release
just got my first manual, ive driven a manual before but ive only got like 30 minutes of experience. super excited to have more control of my car
For the Subaru. Do you give it a kiss of gas when the clutch is fully released or while it's being released?
